Impact in Mount Vernon, Illinois
JOIN US ON A WEEK OF MISSIONAL LIVING
We are inviting churches and ministries to come experience missions right here in Southern Illinois. Register your Youth Groups, College Groups, Men's or Women's ministry, Small Groups, or Church to come to serve and be equipped to live life on mission. This will be an extremely powerful and eye-opening experience. Many people will be called into a life of ministry. Many will go back to their local communities and join or pioneer outreaches. Everyone that is a part of this initiative will have their hearts set on fire to win souls. They will be sent back as empowered missionaries to their families, neighborhoods, churches, schools, and communities. Every person and group is encouraged to raise money and bring an offering to help fund the variety of outreaches. Register by clicking the link below or for more information, contact Shauna at shauna@gospelencounter.com
What to Expect
Southern Illinois is a great place for your team to come and serve. This mission trip experience will focus on living life on mission every day. When you arrive, you will be greeted by the Gospel Encounter team with warm smiles and excitement. GE team cannot wait to meet you and your group. This will be a week of learning to die to self and serve others. There will be hands-on experience with outreaches and evangelism training. You will leave being poured out but also being poured into. You will be challenged to get out of your comfort zone and to try new ways and methods of outreach/evangelism. Be ready to see God move in a powerful way.
Sleeping
The teams will be sleeping at the Gospel Encounter Headquarters. There will be air mattresses available for each person. Remember to bring bedding for your beds. You may choose to bring your own air mattresses. Men will sleep in one area, and women will sleep in another area. There are no exceptions to this.
Food
There will be light breakfast items available each morning, lunch provided onsite of each outreach, and dinner at outreaches or back at Gospel Encounter. If there are any dietary restrictions, please email our team at least a week in advance. We will do our best to try and accommodate, but we cannot make any guarantees.
Activities
Food distribution to low-income housing, light work projects, cleaning up neighborhoods, street evangelism, outreach at the park, backyard Bible clubs, worship nights, evangelism training, devotions, testimonies, group bonding activities, and developing a personal outreach plan for your own life.
